17th of May Roof Gardens Party

A great gig in the sky on the occasion of the Norwegian constitution day

A group of Norwegian music aficionados are pleased to invite you and your friends to a great gig in the sky the 17th of May. On stage we are proud to present to you one of Norway's most promising bands in EYE EMMA JEDI (NO/UK), the tremendously danceable DISCLOSURE and our sparkling dj CHARLOTTE THORSTVEDT. The spectacular Kensington Roof Gardens provides the surroundings, their barbecue is on fire and cold drinks are served for those who wants to celebrate the day, the arrival of summer, or just hear some great music.

The bands are provided by the one-of-a-kind Hovefestival in Norway. Combining the best artists with on site camping, nature, beaches and idyllic surroundings, this major festival experience takes place between the 26th and 29th of June in Arendal, Norway. Make sure you pay them a visit on www.hovefestival.com. Their owner www.festivalrepublic.com - providing the heartbeat of the summer in various festivals like Glastonbury and the Reading Festival - is our sponsor, and together we will like to invite you to a great party, hoping to see you in the garden the 17th of May at 20pm.

Folding shimmering pop melodies with concise indie-rock mannerisms, EYE EMMA JEDI create invigorating anthems with their love for loud noises. Their live energy and musical spectre varies from danceable, progressive indie rock to the most alluring elements of j-pop and post-hardcore.

EYE EMMA JEDI are no strangers to the festival stages and airwaves of their native Norway. Their three first singles (Crucified, Lights & Brother) have been playlisted on national radio for a combined total of 50 weeks and counting (half of which came before their first ever live show).

After their debut gig at the prestigious Oyafestival in Oslo, who for the first time booked a band they'd never seen live, EYE EMMA JEDI were noted as "the most promising band of their kind" by Norway's most respected music media.

With a debut EP release coming soon and tours booked cross Europe, their sights are firmly set on shores beyond Norway in 2012.

Charlotte Thorstvedt is a Norwegian model, DJ, and television host (with MTV and X factor among her hosting credits). Her latest endeavor is producing, and in February 2012 she released her debut album “Salome” on Universal Music Norway.

Of her first single “Treacle”, scandipop said, “ it’s a deliciously laidback soft house affair. It’s lounge, but it’s by no means background music. Instead it’s got enough interesting layers, levels and depth to basically push that sofa within the aforementioned lounge towards the dancefloor, and plonk it right in the middle of a particularly up-for-it bunch of Sunday afternoon clubbers! Listening back to it was like being in some sort of pleasant dreamland where you’re half swimming and half floating in exactly that – treacle!”

Charlotte is also an sought-after DJ, and has spun in Oslo, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Bali, and more and more frequently in London.

"Falling into the same indefinable areas as Joy Orbison and George FitzGerald, their tracks blend elements of 2-step/garage, dubstep, house as well as R&B/Soul. The result is a future garage sound which contains strong 2-step rhythms, warm rising synth lines, and disembodied R&B diva vocals which contribute to content and emotional melodies. It’s as suitable to the dancefloor as it is to home listening." (...) Take Flight Club
